Spirit of John Muir - Sell-out at Eden Court

A packed audience at Eden Court Theatre in  Inverness on 27th February showed its enthusiasm for the evocative and colourful presentation, accompanied by a highly descriptive narrative on Nature`s Peace - in the Spirit of John Muir. Many of those who attended were from the Inverness area, whilst there were those who had traveled some distance to experience the presentation. They included a variety of interests, and whilst walking and climbing predominated, there were those who simply liked the outdoors. This range of interest became evident when a roll call of National environmental organisations membership within the audience was called for. National Trust for Scotland, John Muir Trust and Royal Society for the Protection of Birds undoubtedly came first, with Scottish Wildlife Trust also well represented. Royal Scottish Forestry Society and Plantlife could claim an active presence, with only Central Scotland Forest Trust and Borders Forest Trust absent. Links with Scottish Natural Heritage and Forestry Commission were evident too.

In another dimension to the audience, there were photographers who had contributed to Nature`s Peace, or their relatives present. Watershed Runner was there, along with former colleagues of the author from his Duke of Edinburgh`s Award days.

Inverness certainly rose to the occasion, and gave Nature`s Peace - in the Spirit of John Muir a rousing reception.
