Wild Space Venue for the Launch of Nature`s Peace

Nature`s Peace: A Celebration of Scotland`s Watershed was launched to an enthusiastic audience at the John Muir Trust`s Wild Space in Pitlochry, on Saturday 19th October. This, the third book in the Ribbon of Wildness trilogy, is a full colour volume, containing over 200 hundred photographs, generously provided by some 55 photographers from all over Scotland, and beyond. Giving a consistent spread of images covering the entire Watershed on both the mainland and the Northern Isles, it takes the reader on an evocative visual and descriptive journey.

Published to coincide with Year of Natural Scotland, and to mark the forthcoming John Muir Centenary, it offers an entirely original view of a substantial swathe of the Scottish landform. Stuart Brooks, Chief Executive of the John Muir Trust said "Peter Wright has created a landmark in the ever growing library of books about the landscapes of Scotland". In addition to a lively description of each of the six Marches, which the author has sub-divided the Watershed into, there is an ambitious and thought-provoking vision for this unique geographic feature and it`s highly distinctive character. The book touches on the threats which undoubtedly endanger the continuous wildness, and on its many possibilities for those who wish to engage with it..

The anticipated reviews will be posted elsewhere on this site, in due course.

Nature`s Peace should be available in all bookshops by the end of October 2013.
